Biophiles, pragmatic romantics and entrepreneurs, your guides, Kara and Joy Pecknold come from the same source DNA but entirely different generations.

Kara is a designer and sustainability leader working with leading brands. She helps individuals and organisations consider the requirements for building a world where people and planet are in balance. Canadian by citizenship, she is now based in Bavaria where she climbs mountains instead of splashing in the open sea. Deep in her heart, she believes that most challenges can be solved at the dinner table. 

Joy was a journalist, editor, and creative writer. While she adored words, she also loved actions, including but not limited to co-creating a more liveable, equitable world and full-send karaoke. After more than 20 years in Vancouver, Canada, she had recently moved back to the small island town she grew up in to lead a quieter lake-adjacent life and support our aging parents. Sadly, Joy was taken from us all too soon so we celebrate her ethos and values that will continue to guide this work we started together.
